For Save the Children International:
CREHSS conducted the baseline study of the Abasar-II project in Jajarkot district with the primary objective of measuring the indicators of the project before its implementation and providing baseline values for objectives and outcome indicators in the log frame. The study had three specific purposes: (1) establish foundational evidence for answering research questions, (2) provide values for the log frame indicators at the objectives, outcomes, and outputs level, and (3) assess the status of child-related issues in the project area. The baseline was implemented using a cross-sectional study design with a quantitative approach. Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. For primary data, 25 farmers were surveyed, and all grade 9 and 10 students from 16 selected schools were assessed to measure learning outcomes. For secondary data, the study reviewed school attendance of grades 9 and 10 and examined local-level enabling policies. The baseline provided insights into the status of key areas such as household poverty, child well-being, education (enrollment, dropout, and regularity), learning outcomes, and child protection. These findings serve as critical reference points for measuring project progress and outcomes over time.
