The study to assess the effectiveness of the coach model in enhancing teacher performance, satisfaction, and pedagogical skills was conducted by CREHSS in Dailekh and Jajarkot. The primary objective was to evaluate the overall effectiveness of the coach model. The specific objectives were to: 1) assess the impact of the coaching and mentoring model on teacher performance through the PRP approach, 2) compare the effectiveness of coaching conducted by Head Teachers (HTs) in selected SLaM-implementing schools, 3) identify the good practices used by PRPs to enhance teacher professional development, 4) explore the challenges and opportunities for scaling up the model to local governments, and 5) provide recommendations for government to address these challenges and opportunities. The evaluation primarily used qualitative methods to understand the experiences of teachers, Palika, and provincial officials regarding the coach model facilitated by PRPs, while incorporating some quantitative elements. It was conducted in Gurans Rural Municipality (Dailekh), Chhedagad Municipality, and Kushe Rural Municipality (Jajarkot). Data collection included 29 key informant interviews (KIIs), 12 focus group discussions (FGDs), and 21 classroom observations, along with case studies. In addition, a perception/satisfaction survey was conducted among participants, with a total of 109 respondents. The study presented the effectiveness of the coach model in terms of teacher satisfaction, performance, confidence, motivation, and job satisfaction. It also identified the challenges and limitations, highlighted good practices, and explored the perceptions of stakeholders on the model.
